Kasper Schmeichel, linked with a move to Everton

Not just Leicester’s deadly trio – Vardy, Mahrez and Kante – are closely followed by big teams, as goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is also rumored to be leaving King Power Stadium this summer.

The team interested in the Danish goalie’s services is Everton, which, after appointing Ronald Koeman as their new manager, will be after a new goalkeeper. USA international Tim Howard left the Toffees at the end of the season, signing with MLS side Colorado Rapids, while their other keeper, Joel Robles, is not considered first-team material.

If the reports are to be believed, Koeman has made a priority from signing a new shot stopper and Kasper Schmeichel seems to be the one he is looking for. Even more, they are ready to pay 20 million for the transfer, as Everton’s new owner Farhad Moshiri promised Koeman that he’s willing to splash the cash this summer, in order to improve the squad.

Everton were also after Manchester City’s Joe Hart, but they have already accepted the idea that their chances of signing him were close to 0.

Leicester hasn’t offered Schmeichel a new deal, but they are expected to come with a new offer this summer, in order to keep the 29-year-old. The Dane managed to keep 15 clean in the last Premier League season, according to The Daily Star, and had a vital role in helping the Foxes win their first title ever. If he continues on King Power Stadium, there’s no need to mention that he will be also be a crucial player for the Champions League group stage.

Back in April, it has been reported that Schmeichel’s excellent season with Leicester has put him on FC Barcelona’s radar as well, the Spanish giants receiving multiple bids for German international Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Claudio Ranieri’s side has a hard mission this summer, as keeping their star players won’t be easy. Jamie Vardy hasn’t accepted the offer from Arsenal yet, while N’Golo Kante is a target for major European clubs, like Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain.
