It was just a matter of time until Premier League giants would start showing their interest in Leicester’s players who had an essential role helping Claudio Ranieri’s side winning this year’s league title. Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante are under the spotlight for a few months now and it’s very likely for all three of them to leave King Power Stadium this summer.
The first who might leave The Foxes is Vardy, who was linked to a move to Arsenal lately. According to Daily Maily, he has already verbally agreed a three-year deal, worth £120,000 per week. A decision regarding this was expected to be taken until yesterday, when Jamie Vardy boarded for Euro 2016.
England’s manager, Roy Hodgson, is also pressuring the forward to decide, as he wants Vardy to focus entirely on Euro 2016 in the upcoming weeks.
Riyad Mahrez could join his teammate as Arsenal, as Arsene Wenger insisted on bringing the winger to the Emirates as well. Mahrez seems to be interested in the offer, despite being offered a new contract by Leicester. Still, the deal could collapse, as Arsenal might prefer to get Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan instead.
Finally, Mahrez has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, but it’s N’Golo Kante who might end up in West London this summer, being one of Antonio Conte’s top priorities, who wants to strengthen the team’s middle line.
Currently, Kante is earning 35,000 per week at Leicester, but the Blues are willing to offer him a whooping 100,000 per week deal to join them. Despite their awful season, Chelsea is known for their financial power, so it won’t be a problem for them to make Leicester’s player an offer he really can’t refuse. The midfielder could pair with AS Roma’s Radja Nainggolan, who is also on Chelsea’s new boss wishlist.
Of course, none of these deals were officially confirmed until now and we’re looking forward to hear more and more speculations about Leicester’s players in the upcoming weeks. Still, we must agree that the departure of these three players would be a real blow!
