Leicester make new bid for Dynamo Kiev’s defender

After signing Raul Uche from Rayo Vallecano, Premier League champions Leicester City are after a 25-year-old defender. The Foxes are ‘fighting’ with Bayer Leverkusen for the signature of Austria and Dynamo Kiev player Aleksandar Dragovic, both clubs offering €15 million. However, it won’t be easy, as his current club doesn’t seem to be willing to sell him for less than €22 million.

Currently, Dragovic is expected to return to his club, after Austria’s disastrous Euro 2016 campaign, where they have finished bottom of the group. Even more, the player has been sent off in the opening game, where Austria lost to Iceland.

This isn’t the first time when Leicester are to sign the player. Back in January, Claudio Ranieri tried to attract Aleksandar Dragovic at King Power Stadium, willing to pay the €25 million asked by Kiev. Of course, the player will also have a word to say, as Leicester is a way more interesting destination now, after winning the Premier League, not to mention that for the first time in history, the club will play in Champions League.

One of Leicester’s biggest pluses, which could help Dragovic decide to join the champions is the presence in the team of international teammate Christian Fuchs.

The Foxes are also expected to complete the transfer of Nampaly’s Mendy these days, for a club record  €13 million move from Nice. All terms have been agreed and it should be just a matter of days before the midfielder arrives in England. Mendy has previously worked with Claudio Ranieri at Monaco and has agreed terms on a four-year contract.

Finally, fans are looking forward to the signing of Watford’s Troy Deeney, who is still a major target for Leicester, even though Watford rejected all the offers made for their striker.
